Plays Duke Ellington
|
|

|
I
have been thinking about doing this for a long time, making a record
for Duke Ellington, so on Friday, November 13th, 1998, with Lloyd
Mayers on piano, Earl May on bass, and Leroy Williams on drums, I
went into Clinton Studios and recorded these ten songs.
Lloyd Mayers and Earl May played in the Broadway musical Sophisticated
Ladies. The three of us, along with Leroy Williams have played
together before, so we did this recording with no rehearsals.
